My boyfriend broke up with me, i think he's depressed?
I’ve been seeing my boyfriend for 2 months now, i’m 28. We fell in love early on and everything was really good. I’ve never felt so close to someone in my life, we have so much in common and we understand each other on a deeper level than anything I’ve ever felt. (We’re both musicians and poets so we both feel deeply.) Last Wednesday, he said he would love me forever and never ever leave me, then out of the blue woke up cranky and spent the whole day crying apparently. He kept avoiding talking to me, I was only trying to help. He said I was too smothering, but I only tried to give him what he wanted. I constantly encouraged him to go do what he had to do, but he always chose to be around me. So now I haven’t talked to him in like 4 days. He has had a total breakdown, I think he is depressed. He has alot of past issues to deal with, and alot of unhappiness in his life. I don’t understand why I can’t help him and why getting rid of the one thing good in your life (his words) helps the situation. I know when you’re depressed you don’t want to put your partner through that and bring them down, and I know he needs space to think things through. I am willing to deal with it, he does not bring me down ever, I am a strong person and want to be strong for him. He sent me a text message (yeah i know…) saying he can’t be in a relationship right now, it’s got nothing to do with me, rarara… all the usual things. I am really worried about him, and would just like to know he’s okay. I know he has loving family members that will make sure he’s okay. I have been reading alot about it, and I don’t want to push him away by contacting him. I don’t really know what happened in such a short space of time, and why he feels we couldn’t sort it out. I feel like I need to talk things out with him, but I don’t want to be selfish. I want to believe that he will contact me when he’s ready, but I don’t want to be in denial. I really really love this man. I don’t want him to deal with this pain alone, I know what he’s going through. It’s killing me that he’s just shut me out. Help me please get my head around this?? I know we weren’t together for that long but I’ve never felt anything more real, and I know he still loves me.
go back out with him then?
Brooke H | Feb 07, 2010
Trust me. Guys don’t get depressed. Women are the only ones that get depressed after break ups.
Al Gore | Feb 07, 2010
One of the big problems with this relationship is that you have only been dating for 2 months, and while you might have felt a deep loving connection, all the secrets and old demons did not have time to come to surface yet.
As for him shutting you out, it might be more than him just not wanting to bring you down with him. Sometimes when people have problems they need to work out, they need to do it alone.
It probably be okay to call him, but when you call don’t call to coach him through his problems but just to say "i’m thinking about you, I love you, and I just wanted to make sure that you are okay." Nothing more than that should be said unless he asks you for advice. If you still do not feel comfortable with contacting him, contact one of his family members to jsut find out if he is okay.
Miss Austen | Feb 07, 2010
Give him his space. You can’t force yourself into his life. Send him a note reassuring him and making it clear that you love him and that you want to be a part of his life still, but don’t do anything beyond that. Hopefully he’ll come around. But he most likely just doesn’t want to see anybody right now…..and just wants to mope around in self pity.
Patrick | Feb 07, 2010
Don’t make him a martyr, or fill in the blank.
The fact is: He broke up with you.
I’m not trying to fill in the blank, but crying can also be a sign of guilt..not just depression. He might have done something he didn’t want to tell you about, and decided to just break up with you to avoid it.
I am being blunt with you, because I’ve felt like you. Made myself the not so good guy, but made ‘him’ the saint who only had my best interest in mind. When you finally wake to the truth, it may take ages to heal yourself.
It’s time to move forward, focus on you and what’s best for you.
When he’s ready to talk, he will believe me. Maybe even out of the blue.
For now, it’s your show. Run it
Best of luck.
Miss Lugubrious | Feb 07, 2010
sounds to me he has had a mental break down some of lifes circumstances can cause us to be unrashinal and strange, i am sure he loves you the same as you love him i wasnt there for the issue he developed but i am sure it will pass, if he has had signs of depression before i would say he isnt dealing with an issue and has gone cold where you are concerned i am sure it isnt personal and you shouldnt stress yourself out too much, i would leave him for a week or two then attempt to speak to him and see what has occoured explain that you dont understand what has happened and you love him and want to help, explain that you are willing to wait for him as long as it takes and do whatever it takes to make him feel better. in the mean time i think the best thing to do is wait send him a message stating that you love him and hope that he will be ready to talk when he feels he is ready keep in touch with his family member and see how he is tracking if he doesnt get better after a week suggest to his relative he see a doctor for depression, because depression in men can sneak up on them and they will not recognise the signs. good luck i hope he feels better and i hope you too can sort everything out.

PICK MEE!! umm.. help for a novel ?!?
well.. im very young and im not telling my age, but im young. I really wanna start a novel.. an adventure with fantasy.. of a girl that goes into a cave.. with a scientific group and gets lost with a friend in the way. where they wil find things they had never imagined before, meet a tribe that leads the way to their inner self (i know it sound kinda corny -i still don’t care-).. and many things in the way.. i have two main things:
The characters names :
I want to name the girl
Natalia Fisherman ( i really don’t care much about the last name, i really want her name to be Natalia)
The boy she gets lost with:
John Kennedy (any other names that you might come up with are very happily considered) FIRST NAME!
The girl’s father:
Tom Fisherman (ideas please!!) FIRST NAMEE!! TOO
Any other names for the scientific group she leaves.. -I prefer exotic-.. !!
Um.. and im looking for a very special place with caves.. anywhere in the world
Do you know a cave? a very full-of-myths cave.. ANYWHERE in the world.. i really dont care.. tell me the name of it.. or where it is.. and ill look up info about it.
Thanks a lot.. any ideas are well accepted.
Byye!
Sorry about john Kennedy.. i meant Erick Kennedy.. i was thinking about presidents.. haha.. thats all i needed to add
Names - can’t help you. Don’t know your characters. FIsherman is a little awkward, tho.
Caves, however, THE most full-of-myth cave ever (in my never to be humbled opinion) is Lascaux Caves, in France. Google them. You’ll learn some awesome s*hit.
Scientific reasons for cave exploration - be careful about writing about scientific stuff you don’t understand, you could be creating more problems for yourself than you realize. Try something more basic, something kids might do.
Reasons to go into caves, spelunking (cave climbing), artifact hunting (would have to be an archeologist or something to even get into Lascaux), pleasure of exploration might lead kids into a cave. Religious rituals might take place in caves. Lost animals might hide out in caves, lost people even…
Hint - skip using the name John Kennedy, kid. It’s been done over and over and over again. What about something like, Grady Binks or Joey Saroyan, something with a little pop. Get a phone book, open it up, find some names you like and play around with them.
Anyway. Good luck!

I like the name Natalia, maybe give her the last name Erickson, Rogers, Exandria. Just a few off the top of my head.
The boy she gets lost with: Michael, Jesse, Gage, Xander, Liam, James. I like the last name Kennedy though.
Father: Charles, Andrew, Robert, Harold
I’m not sure what kind of name you want for the scientific group, and I’m not a huge expert on caves…try looking up something in the Caribbean maybe?!
Hope this helped and good luck!

Well, I think the Fishermans are fine - but maybe you could change Tom to Tim or something else a little less common?
And I’d definitely change John Kennedy; I’m readers won’t be able to help thinking how strange it is that he shares his name with one of the most famous U.S. presidents - but you don’t mention the middle name. Because when I read that name, I could only think how weird it sounded without the ‘F’ in the middle.

Where can I read Dick Tracy and other old comic strips on the web?
I want to read a bunch of strips, not just one or two random ones.
I have looked in the place called a "library", but they don’t have the things called "books" that have what I want to "borrow"
There is this fantastic place called the library where you can find these fantastic things called books.

Is 384 Kb/sec download - 64 Kb/sec upload fast?
Hey guys, I want to get a cell phone plan here in the Netherlands. My question is: is 384 Kb/sec download fast? Like loading apple.com in 10 seconds instead of 2 minutes what I have now :p. Thanks for the answers!
On a phone? Probably.
On a PC? Not a chance. I used to have 10 Mb down.
Army Bride 7/23/08 | Feb 09, 2010
If you’re using dial-up right now (which is 56Kb/sec), then the answer is about 7 times faster than what you’re using right now.
lol, iPad
Adrian | Feb 09, 2010
We’re talking a mobile plan here. It depends on your plan, the cost of the plan and the available networks in your area to answer this question correctly. 384 KB’s is decent when we’re talking about the typical compressed files downloaded onto a phone. I believe 3g plans, available here in the US for phones and aircards are more than sufficient for daily use. Your reception will also play a huge part in the equation - 384 is probably the max download speed and cannot be guaranteed.

Obama supporters: A walk down memory lane, Obama's first 50 days. Are you finally ready to admit your chosen?
leader is in way over his head?
http://www.examiner.com/x-3704-Columbia- Conservative-Examiner~y2009m3d15-When-th e-world-figures-out-Obama-is-in-over-his -head
BELOW IS JUST THE FIRST 50 DAYS:
Russia is considering sending bombers to air bases in Cuba and Venezuela. A dangerous liaison has been forged between Communists and Islamo-fascists in Iran, Russia, Cuba, Venezuela, and North Korea.
Obama has ordered a halt to a missile defense shield that is necessary to protect the free world from nuclear attack.
Obama has also ordered the release of known terrorists from Gitmo–cold blooded murderers who are now back at work in the Jihad.
And let’s not forget that Obama has also ordered the closing of Gitmo, which will mean that ultimately the world’s most dangerous persons will be sent to the U.S. mainland to be housed in somebody’s backyard.
Add to these the fact that Obama has snubbed some of our closest allies, such as Britain and Israel, and cozied up to some of the most barbaric terrorist regimes in the world, such as Hamas.
He also wants to open up travel and trade with Cuba even as the Communist regime considers allowing Russian bombers to take port in its air fields.
Are you finally seeing a pattern here?
A pattern of bad decisions and anti-America sentiments.
Another pattern I see is the same old libtard pattern of blaming Bush and living in denial that their chosen leader is unable to deliver a letter nonetheless a nation. And he can only deliver a speech with a series of teleprompters.

I don’t understand people that make these type’s of posts when their minds are already made up..
Do you think with THIS post your going to change someones mind either way?
Regardless your ’source’ is a no-name biased publication without any credentials, because they decided to exclude the fact that the ‘missile defense shield’ you speak of was a failed bush attempt, I remember this distinctly… bush signed a program that sounded more like Star Wars, trying to accomplish things that we are not even close to technology wise, if said program actually worked then I’m pretty sure it would be wide spread knowledge that we dont have to be worried about getting hit by nucs anymore.
Furthermore they fail to list the all these ‘terrorist’ Obama has released, and yes he ordered the closing of a failed prison, which the majority of the population were held without any proof they had anything to do with terrorism.
You do a great job of copy/paste tho.. I’ll give you that much. Try being original.

Are you ready to admit that only the GOP and it’s sheep call Obama the "messiah" or the "chosen leader" in order to try and rationalize why people didn’t vote for their party?
Are you willing to admit that the GOP has spent more time and energy criticizing Obama than they have coming up with workable solutions?
Are you willing to admit that you know nothing about the things you’ve listed and all you did was copy and paste?
I’m betting the answer is a resounding NO.
Patrick B | Jan 06, 2010
I like how some people are stupid enough to say, "Well you wanted Obama to fail. Be careful what you wish for.".
Wishing for, and actually having him be a failure on his own are 2 different things. I’ll crap in one hand and wizz in the other and see which one fills up first.
He’s managed to be a failure all on his own. No wishing needed.

The Invasion of the Body Snatchers (1956) Question?
What is the significance of Miles trying to call the F.B.I. when he first discovers the larger plot of the pod people? Does the contacting of the F.B.I at the end of the movie represent a possible triumph over the pod people? Why does Miles, the main character, win out against the pods?
He doesn’t win - the final scene, where the trucks are transporting the pods nationwide, while Miles shouts at anyone who will listen what the dangers are (but is clearly ignored), strongly implies the pods are going to take over the whole country.
The movie is a warning against Communism - the Pods are like the Communists, they take over by pretending to be just like normal Americans, until there are so many of them its too late. The message the movie is sending when Miles calls the FBI (but is ignored), is that, no matter how absurd it seems, the enemy can take over ‘from within’ - Americans needed to be on their guard against a possible comunist takeover at all times, before its too late.
